Purchased 4 cameras, 2installed, having issues, keep getting error message

Community Member

Purchased 4 cameras, installed 2 no problem.  Other 2 I keep getting error message "something went wrong". I turned the phone to airplane mode and back, nothing seems to help.  I reset the camera to original setting, no help.  I am very frusterated.  i thought the wifi was weak.  Ipurchased a new wifi and point and installed it today no problem.  Help!!

Is that the exact wording of the error message? Do you see an error code, that starts with a C or NC?

Try these steps:

  1. For ease of setup, make sure your camera is within 15 - 20 ft (4 - 6 m) of the Wi-Fi router and the phone or tablet you're using for setup.
  2. Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both turned ON on your phone or tablet.
  3. Turn OFF mobile/cellular data.
  4. Reboot your router. Most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot.
  5. Reboot your camera by removing the power cable, then reconnect it.
  6. Reboot your phone by pressing and holding it's power button.
  7. Make sure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app, by checking your app store for any updates.

As you're using an iOS device for setup, I'd also recommend checking these settings:

  • VPN: Off
  • iCloud private relay: Off
  • Local network access: On

I am using  a IOS device, I went back and reset the VPN, then iCloud relay reset,  and made sure the ensure the local network access was on.  And it worked.  Wow! After weeks of frustration.  Thank you very much
