Question with Nesr Doorbell. Not working when wired

Hello,

Recently my Nest doorbell was working perfectly.  We replaced my exterior door so we took about the Nest doorbell

We went back to hook it up to the wires and now it doesn’t work at all.  When it in via USB, it works fine. Any idea what’s happening?

@Metsj373

Are your doorbell wires still intact? If you touch the two wires together, does your doorbell chime ring?

Doorbell wires are intact and not damaged.  When I touched them together the chime worked but I just tried again and now not working.  Could I have shorted out the chime connector?

@Metsj373

I don't know, but I don't think so. Touching the wires together just closes the circuit, the same way in which a conventional doorbell does.

It’s odd that the chime worked and now isn’t

Hello all,

@Metsj373, thank you for posting and for sharing what you have done to try to resolve your issue. I apologize that your doorbell isn’t working.

I have a few questions: What type of Nest doorbell do you have? Do you have an iOS or Android device? What is the color of the status light? Also, are you using the Google Home app or the Nest app?

Please keep me updated.

Thank you for your help, MplsCustomer.

Best,
Lance
