Hi everyone,
Whenever I want to change my spoken language from the quick responses from english to dutch or another language, the language stays in english.
I've already tried everything, reinstalled doorbell, reset etc... but language won't change.

Hi there,

Have you tried to check out this help article found here to see if you have possibly missed something? I am honestly not an expert at Google Assistant issues, so you can always visit their forums to ask as well.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

In addition I have an Android device. I've tried resetting the nest doorbell, and nothing, still English.

There is no way to report this bug, I was looking for a way to report it but there is no issue tracker or a form to report the bug, nothing.

Let's hope google keeps an eye on this platform and sees this. It helps to keep the replies going to get it on their radar. So if anyone else is reading this and has the same issue, please leave a message! 🙂

If you can, the way to report this bug is to go to the doorbell in the google home app > device info, click on the three dots and feedback and then write the bug (and if you could highlight spoken language field on the screenshot would be ideal)

Goodmorning,

I still have the same problem. So Dutch is selected as spoken language, however the quick responses remain in English. Do you have any solution for this?

Thanks for your help!

I'm having the same issue. My spoken language is set to English, but I need the announcements set to Japanese. I've selected Japanese as an option, have have Japanese as a second language for my google home/assistant, but it still just plays the announcements in English.

It switched back to English again for quick replies, so annoying!

@gvillo

I am sorry to hear that you are still having this language switch issue! Before you change Google Assistant’s language, make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.

To change your language:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account and then Assistant settings  Languages.
  3. Tap your current language  choose a new language.

Please let me know if you need further assistance/

Best regards,

Brad.

Hey folks.

Do any of you have multiple Google accounts? And are all of those accounts set to the same Language preferences? Wondering if this is affecting the language changing or not reporting the same language because of that. Please let me know.

Best regards,

Brad.

Both are connected to same wifi and google acccount. In my case, English and Japanese are set as the main languages.

Same here. So both connected to the same google account and wifi. Dutch selected as main language, my google assistent is speaking Dutch, however, the quick responses coming from the doorbell are in english (although Dutch selected as speaking language in the home app.

Update (Feb 27). Long story short, my doorbell fell off the wall (I'm using tape due to renting) and so I took the time to charge it again and to try a reset. Nothing happened. Then, just out of sheer annoyance, I set the language to a random one (If I recall, the one under Japanese). I thought it would be interesting to see what happened. Now, no longer set to Japanese, but another language I tested it. AND THE **bleep** THING NOW SPEAKS JAPANESE!!!! I quickly set it to Japanese incase this was a fluke and it remains in Japanese for now. I just hope it stays this way,

Looks like it takes a day to set the spoken language to the device, it's not immediately, that's pretty much it.
