Recently upgraded to 2nd generation doorbell and field of view is limited

I just changed our our Nest Hello doorbell for a Gen 2 one. The field of vision is severely limited with this one. I wish I had done my research before buying!! My big issue, besides not being able to see my entire porch is that I cannot see people standing in front of the door. I had no problems with this with my Hello doorbell.  If I use a wedge, then I won't be able to see the little bit of my porch that I can see now. Why is the field of view so little compared to the Hello camera? The quality is better but what good is it if you can't see who is at your door? We mounted this one in the same place as our other one.

Yes, I was frustrated by that as well.  I think they were trying to make it so that you were more likely to see a package on the ground.  I ended up returning mine and purchased a used HELLO from Ebay.  Plus I still prefer the NEST app although the  Google Home app has come a long way in the improvements.

I may do that as well. My husband doesn't think it is a big deal but what is the point of having a doorbell camera if you can't see who is at the door!  I love the clarity of the picture but I might check out an older Hello or a Ring.
