@baseballfant83

You can only save detected events using the Google Home app on a mobile device.  The home.google.com website livestreams only, though I suppose you could try some sort of screen capture software.

Thanks . Do you have instructions on saving on home app. I don’t see anywhere that gives that option to save footage?

@baseballfant83

The option to download clips is not easy to find, and they've completely changed it with the new version of the Google Home app, and the online instructions--for the older version-- are incorrect.

In the previous version, which I no longer can access, you had to select the event, and then click around with various options until a download icon appeared, and then click the download icon.  Usually you would then get a message about giving the Google Home app access to "Photos".

In the newest version, you have to select the event, then click the 3 horizontal bars in the lower right corner and click "Save clip". So far, it's been a little flakey, and doesn't always download when it says it does, and sometimes you get a message about giving the Google Home app access to "Photos".
