Snow is not a moving vehicle

Matty64

I have 2 floodlight cameras.  Always at night, snow, or heavy rain sets off the moving vehicle detection.  I am on limited or metered internet connection, so it's burning up my data and costs extra money.  Saw some older posts from this year (2022) but wanted to see if anyone has same issue or if there are any updates.

Thanks.

I have exactly the same issue, rain or snow the floodlight cam constantly sets off saying there's a moving vehicle when it's completely stationary, it's been this way since day 1 of getting the Floodlight cam from when it was first released.  I have had to turn this event completely off, otherwise it's nothing but false negative events and alerts (if those are on.)

Mine doesn't even have a stationary vehicle.  Just snow or rain at night, and it thinks it's a moving vehicle.  I got 27 alerts last night alone.

I should have been a bit clearer, I have this issue as well, plus sometimes it says there's a person, even when neither a car nor a person are on the drive.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out. To know more about this issue, I'd like to ask some questions: Were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network? Are there other family members who can access the camera? Do they receive any notifications? Has the camera been moved recently?

There are a few things that can trigger unwanted alerts or false positives, here are common triggers to name a few:

  • Changes in the light level
  • Shadow moving across the frame. For example, if a cloud moves in front of the sun.
  • Trees or bushes swaying near the customer’s important areas.
  • Headlights or flashing entering the field of view.

We would recommend you create an activity zone. Here's how.

Keep us posted.

Regards,
Emerson

Hi,

There have been no changes to the wifi. The camera has not been moved.  I have no activity zones set up.  I am currently the only one who can access the cameras.

Thanks.

I believe that Activity Zones will help you out in this situation. You can learn more about them here. I hope you find the article helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Also, if you haven't already, try to restart your devices and make sure that all of them are updated to the latest software.

Best regards,
Brad

I don't think it will.  Nothing that I want to exclude in the current frame.

You can still include the features and notifications you want, but you can change the sensitivity of which ones you get the most of, etc. That would be the only viable option at this time according to this inquiry.

Brad
