Some Events Not Showing Up

I have Nest outdoor cameras and doorbell.  Around approx. 2:15 am I noticed the outdoor light was on. I was in the kitchen a little before that getting my phone and loading the dishwasher and would have noticed the light on. Plus I had the bathroom light on. Both lights would have been visible to anyone outside in the driveway.  When I turned the inside lights off to go to bed just after 2:00 am I notice the driveway light was on and decided to check the Nest on my phone.  I noticed that the trunk of the car was open. I worked in the yard at 4 pm and also was in the garage so would have noticed if the trunk had been open before. Plus we didn't go anywhere today and the trunk had been closed all day.  I tried to see if I could determine the precise time when someone opened the car door and popped the trunk open. Nest on my iphone would not let me look at 11 pm or 12 am - just after about 12:30 and the trunk was already open at that time.  Not only could I not see 11 or 12 it would not let me see some of the events in detail. It shows 8 events but only 4 show up. The pics are stacked on the left side and when I click on the 2:00 am and later I am able to have those go to the bigger screen to see better.  When I click on some of the pics it won't put those on the bigger screen.  I don't have the Aware but I thought I should be able to see at least 3 hours worth of pics/recorded events. Also, when I use my laptop to view Nest I only get it Live and cannot change the time to see earlier events. I really would like to see who got in my car and opened the trunk and at what time and would like to know if the person figured out a way to get around the porch light going on - motion detector light. I guess that will teach me to leave my phone in my purse - chances are I got the notification when it happened but didn't have the phone nearby so was unaware of it. But, I feel like I should have been able to see the 11 pm and 12 am pics/events.  I went outside to close the trunk (scared to do it but wasn't going to leave it open) and Nest did not record me as an event but Nest usually does record it as an event when we open the kitchen door and go outside plus the motion detector light comes on. The light came on but there was no record of me walking to the car and closing the trunk.  Any help or suggestions (other than lock the car which I will be doing from now on) would be appreciated.  This was really scary for me - time to get a gun and learn how to use it I guess.  I put up 4 cameras and 2 door bells after someone (I suspect a worker that my neighbor uses) stole all of the avocados (worth over a grand easy) off our tree - that was mid-Nov 2018.  Would have been nice if the cameras had come through for me for this - so I would have an idea who opened the trunk. The person closed the door but not the trunk - I think turning on the kitchen and/or bathroom light may have alerted the person that I was awake and scared them off. The other possibility is there was nothing worth stealing in the trunk - my Mom's walker and I had a workout jacket will be interested in seeing if it is still there. The person may have closed the door so the inside car light didn't stay on.  But left the trunk open if the person left in a hurry once the person saw there was nothing to steal. Guess I better pick the rest of my avocados so there isn't a repeat of Nov 2018.

The three hours of event video history that you get with the newer Google Nest cameras released starting in the fall of 2021 let you access events within the previous three hours. On the Google Store and elsewhere, Google says "The Nest Doorbell (battery) includes 3-hour event video history." But in the fine print on Google Nest Help (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9681538?hl=en) it says "This means that without a subscription, you can get photo snapshots of detected activity up to 3 hours in the past."

So, as another customer put it, if an event happens at 3:00 o'clock, it will disappear at 6:00 o'clock. The three-hour event history isn't a "bucket" that holds three hours of recordings.
