Hello all,

Can anyone advise the plan and timeline for moving the nest Doorbell and nest Thermostat from the Nest app and into the Home app?

Thanks

Andy

Google Nest does not seem to share much about its timetables.

The only thing I've seem about moving devices from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app is this Aug. 24, 2023 post on allowing users to test out moving just their 1st gen Nest Cam Indoor from the Google Nest app to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Let-s-Discuss-Support-for-Nest-Cam-Indo...

And this accompanying blog on the same subject:

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Nest-Cam-Indoor-1st-gen-expanded-support-rolling-out-in-...

The blog says only this about the timetable; the Nest Hello Doorbell and the Nest Thermostat are not even mentioned:

"We’re excited to start with the Google Nest Cam Indoor, followed by Nest Cam Outdoor, with more to come. Beyond cameras, we’ll continue to bring support for many Nest devices and features to the Home app, one device at a time, while maintaining privacy, security, and experiences for our customers. Each device has its own complexity and requires migrating infrastructure, updates to device software, and evaluating if the hardware can be supported."

Both posts are locked, so I haven't seen any feedback at all about whether any customers have tried moving their camera, or how has gone for them.

Thanks MplsCustomer for this info.  There is one thing that stops me from moving the indoor cam to the Google Home app.  Once  you do it can no longer be seen but the Nest app.  For me this is a deal breaker for moving ANY of the gen 1 cams to the Google Home app as there are still too many features missing.

It's bizarre that they don't find you full control of the thermostats in the home all. It's surely a major part of the ecosystem, having to use the nest app itself to say a schedule is strange. Why do Google drag their heels so much, it's baffling as the integration is so so basic to accomplish.
