Turning cameras off and on

Rubysusmom
Community Member

I recently bought a Nest doorbell and 3 cams all battery.  We are in and out of the house constantly throughout the day and they record all day long which drains the batteries.  Can I manually turn off 2 of the cams and thr doorbell.  If so, how?  Old and not real tech savvy.

Thanks in advance.

Open the Google Home app on your phone and click on the "Cameras" icon near the top of the screen. You'll then see either a live feed or still image of each of your cameras. In the lower left corner of each camera's image is a "Turn off" option; click that. To turn them back on, click on the "Turn on" option that then appears. (At least this is how it works on an iPhone with cameras that are plugged in.)

Hi Rubysusmom,

When you open the Google Home app and tap on the 'Cameras' icon you can switch the cameras on/off on the overview screen...

You could also set the cameras to switch on/off automatically using the 'Home/Away assist' feature that is linked to your smartphone location. There's more information about this feature in the link below.
