I’m so sick of Google and these expensive experimental garbage devices they are promoting and manipulating hard working ppl into buying. Bought a Google chromecast because I was told that’s was the only way I could view my cameras on my tv. Unfortunately yet not surprisingly at all, I’m unable to log in with an error saying incorrect username or password. Ik for a fact the info in putting in is correct. In fact I changed the password just to confirm I was putting in the right one. Anywho, I’m not shocked at all. Smh. A billion dollar company, hell maybe a trillion dollar company but whichever, they’re unable to fix a tiny stupid login bug and probably won’t fix it because they don’t care. They already have my money so why fix the issues right? Right.

Hi DeonSand7,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Sorry for the trouble. A few questions: What Chromecast device are you using? If it’s a Google TV version, were you trying to login via the installed app of your camera brand? Is this a Google Nest Camera? If it is, tell us which model by looking at this link. Have you set it up using the Google Home App? Let us know.

Thanks,

Kimy

Google Chromecast with Google TV HD. I downloaded the app (Nest) on the Google Chromecast, I’ve had it on my phone for months so I know my login info is 100% correct. Same error each time I’m successfully unable to not log in. The device I have on my phone that’s giving me hell on the Chromecast is my doorbell. A Google wired doorbell

Hi there,

Thanks for the details. The Nest App you installed and tried to log into is for the Legacy Nest accounts. You can only cast your camera to your Chromecast with Google TV via voice command using the remote. Press and hold down the Google Assistant button to initiate the command. For example, "Show Front Door", given that it is the name of the doorbell in the Google Home app, as long as both the Chromecast device and the camera are in the same Google Home App structure and on the same WiFi network, both of these devices will communicate.

Let me know if you still have questions.

Cheers,

Kimy

I see. After reading and researching for HOURS last night/this morning, I finally figured that out. But thanks. Smh. We just need Google to work on the speakers and Google mini(s) playing the right song when we request a specific song now. I see that’s a really huge issue others besides myself are having also.
