Google thinks it is smart. But it is missing tons of things that it should be capturing. A car driving into my driveway, for example. On our other cameras, even if the event was not made, I can scroll through the video feed, and see the things Google missed. I cannot do this on a doorbell that is wired into power. WHY NOT?!?!? IS there a setting to allow that? Why would that be limited on the doorbell, when you can do it on everything other camera?

Sorry. That's one of many drawbacks of the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery). (That's why we went with the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell and an OhmKat Power Adapter for our unwired third door.)
Here's where Google says: "24/7 video history is not available for the Nest Doorbell (battery), even with optional wired installation."

UGH... why that went away on the new doorbell, so dumb. And using the old one means you're on two different apps to see things. I never bothered to read all those specs, silly me, I assumed that functions wouldn't be taken away...

When we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) back in Sept. 2021 we were also caught by surprise and discovered that it works only in the Google Home app and has less functionality than our older cameras. And we're stuck with using two different apps unless and until Google Nest gets around to moving all Nest functionality to the Google Home app.

I just wanted to jump in real fast and thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you are not happy with the direction that Google/Nest has gone with the new cams. I can understand the frustration of not having everything in one app. I hope that there will be a solution soon. In the meantime, please feel free to submit your feedback to us. I've put instructions for feedback below.
If you need anything else, please let me know.
Best regards,
Brad.
