Im having the same problem as it seems many people have had with this camera/floodlight combo. I have a total of six nest cameras and this is the only one I have problems with. The motion sensored floodlight works as intended so I know it's getting power but the camera says "empty battery" which doesn't make sense since this is a wired camera.

If you have continuous power to your floodlight camera, it should be running of of household current and the battery should never drain. We've had the battery camera (the same camera) since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable, and the battery has always remained charged and the camera is "Live" and recording at all times.
You can try checking for possible reasons for why your camera might not be getting power"
If you have a switch on your floodlight circuit, is the switch always turned on?
Is the USB plug seated firmly in the bottom of your camera? Are the contact pins clean and remaining dry?
If you go to your floodlight camera in the Google Home app, under Settings | Battery it should always say "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.
Was power turned on for your floodlight camera when you installed it in the Google Home app. Some customers with the battery camera have discovered that during the install the Google Home app didn't recognize their camera was plugged in, and so set it up in battery power mode.
If you cannot resolve it, you could try contacting Support to see if there is some defect on your camera, using the link and instructions on this post:
