What does it take to get this annoying banner removed on all of my cameras on the Nest app?

It’s the banner informing me Dropcams will no longer be supported next April. I am fully aware but annoyed this banner is taking up already valuable space on each dropcam screen in the Nest app. I’ve actually clicked on it by accident a couple of times & it takes me to the FAQ’s about the change. Again, I’m aware & don’t need a reminder on every camera every day. How can I opt out?

Hey everyone,

@EmptyNester, thanks for looking into this.

We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you, @Lcw916. Let's see what's going on. Check your Nest app to see if the Nest DropCam is still added to your account. Remove it from your Nest app to stop the banner notification. Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the Nest app.
  2. If you have another home, on the app home screen, tap Menu. Then select the home that has the product you'd like to remove.
  3. On the app home screen, tap the Settings Nest settings icon.
  4. Tap the product you'd like to remove.
  5. Scroll down and select Remove [product name].
  6. You'll then be asked to confirm your choice.

If the issue persists, you can manually change your notification settings, including the banner notification on your iOS device.

Follow the steps on this page: Nest notifications not working, go to ¨Check that notifications aren't being blocked in your phone or tablet's settings¨ and select ¨iOS Notification Settings¨.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Renz.

Hmmm,  I'm on the NEST APP every day and I don't every remember getting this banner.   Let me see if I can find out more on this...

If you’ve upgraded all of your dropcams to nest/google cams that work on the nest app you  probably won’t see this banner

So are you basically saying the banner won’t disappear until I remove all my dropcams from the nest app?I plan on using them until they are no longer supported. Sorry but the Google home app leaves alot to be desired at this point

By the way this isn’t a notification banner it’s a permanent banner at the top of every dropcam view in the nest app. Here’s a screenshot from one of my cameras

the topic is removing the banner from the picture screen not removing the camera from the account.

I wanted to thank you for your inquiry. I have the exact same issue. I am just livid that Google would choose to treat us this way. I must have a half a dozen of these cameras that I still use and have enjoyed very much.  https://video.nest.com/live/1IeF4oFGVi
