Looks like I may have a bad chime puck. Just got the 2nd Gen and followed the instructions. All works well but no inside chime. I remove the chime puck and then the inside chime works. My inside chime is 16 V/10VA (same one they show in the video).
How do I get a new chime puck? What is the risk of keeping the chime puck removed. Guess I can return the whole thing and hope the new one works, but would like a better option.

The purpose of the chime puck is to provide continuous power to your doorbell without tripping your chime.
Numerous customers in this forum--including myself--have reported upgrading their transformer to 16V 30VA to get either the 1st gen or the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbells to work correctly (including triggering the chime). I know this is more than the minimum Google Nest says is required (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132), but that's been our experience.
We upgraded when our second Nest Hello doorbell wouldn't ring the chime with our old 16V 10VA transformer. It would only wiggle the plunger in the chime a little.
There are also reports from other customers in this forum about having defective chime pucks for the 2nd gen doorbell.

Thanks. I'm hoping to avoid buying anything else if I don't have to, especially since I verified my chime met the spec requirements before buying the Google Doorbell.

Understood. But my suspicion--and our experience--is that Google Nest's minimum transformer requirements are insufficient. We went without our side doorbell ringing the chime for almost a year until I finally broke down and upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer a couple of years ago. And replacing ours was a real pain due to its location in the basement rafters.
Android Central, for example, says that for video doorbells, "You'll need a transformer rated at 16-24 VAC and 30 VA to power things properly" (https://www.androidcentral.com/ring-video-doorbell-transformer).
