Wired Nest camera turns itself off

azski

I have 3 cameras all within 20' of each other. Two stay on all the time but one for no reason keeps turning off every few hours. They are all on the same network. Is this a camera defect or is there something I need to do?

We have multiple Google Nest cameras and doorbells, and we've never had an instance where one of them "turned off". Ever. They've gone offline (when we've lost Internet connection or turned off our router, or very rarely for other reasons. And they've turned off when we've lost power.

If your camera is going offline, it could be due to a weak Wi-Fi signal at it's location.

You could try removing the camera and doing a factory reset to see if that fixes it (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162). If it does not, and your camera is within the 1-year warranty, try contacting Support for a possible replacement:

Hi everyone,

@azski, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, how far is your Nest Camera from your Wifi router? Which Nest Camera do you have? Also, were you able to read the information and check the link that MplsCustomer has shared? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
