Woodpecker Damage on Outdoor Camera

MattAnthony

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to protect against woodpecker damage on the camera?  Deterrents like a fake owl or shiny discs don't keep the woodpeckers away, so I need to protect the camera.  We tried spikes around the camera but the birds literally fly right to it and land on it to start pecking.

Has anyone used an acrylic housing with their cameras and if so, has that worked ok?  I searched everywhere and don't see any kind of protection purpose built for the Nest outdoor Cam.  Any help would be welcome, thanks

Hi MattAnthony,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I've checked our Google Store webpage and there's no such accessory for the Nest Camera. To confirm, do you have a broken Nest Camera because of the woodpecker? If so, please share the photo of your actual Nest Camera here. We'll wait for your response.

Best,

Hello MattAnthony,

I appreciate your update. I'm glad that you're able to get your replacement. I've checked our Google Store and there's no such product available. I've tried checking online and saw that some third party retailers have shiny reflective disks that could repel birds.

Regards,

Emerson
