yet another cracking nest doorbell

Yet another early adopter of Nest Hello here - with a cracking doorbell that Google won't replace because my device is out of warranty. I contacted support and they refused to replace it, despite me showing them evidence of Google making exceptions for other users with the exact same issue with out of warranty doorbells. It's clear this is some kind of design/manufacturing flaw and Google needs to stand by their products. I'm very heavily into the ecosystem with multiple cameras, locks, thermostats, smoke detectors, etc. Google should do the right thing and replace this.

Welcome to the group of defective doorbells. Really unfortunate how this whole thing is playing out and you’re now one of the hundreds of other threads and potentially thousands of customers that are dealing with this.

I’m aware of the warranty. I’m also aware of the many people here who have had their out of warranty doorbells replaced for the same issue. It doesn’t matter if it’s 1 day or 1 year out of warranty - clearly this is some kind of widespread issue that affects both in warranty and out of warranty units, and the right thing for google to do is to replace it.

 

I’ve already started replacing every nest product I own.
