Ambient mode disconnects

Ambient mode disconnects after a variable period of time, say 15-30 minutes. Screen message says "lost connection." Sometimes, if I do nothing, the message goes away, and then reverts to an unknown screensaver of world places, then ambient mode restarts.  Sometimes not,  and LG tv just shuts down (power off). Other apps do not "lose connection" and I can stream for hours. Why does Ambient mode shut down? Thanks for tips.

I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast is losing connection! This sounds like it could be pretty annoying, so I'd be happy to help. In this case, there may be a setting on the TV that could be affecting the connection to the Chromecast based on being idle. I would check your TV's settings to see if there are any power-saving settings or settings that would turn the TV off after a certain amount of time.

Thank you Jeran. Success, but a little different method. Found in my Chromecast a setting for "time out" of Ambient screen. Selected "Never" and it now stays on with no sign of the "lost signal" screen. Works.
