Screen mirroring

I am using the screen mirroring and it works find until I try and play a video. The video starts and I hear the audio and see the subtitles but other then that the screen is just black and not the video.

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue casting your Android phone's screen to your TV. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: what's the make and model of your mobile phone? What type of Chromecast device do you have? When did the issue start? 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Make sure the Google Home app is updated. 
  2. Make sure the Microphone permission in the Google Play Services app is turned on.
  3. Power Saving Mode on your phone must be turned off.
  4. If you're using an Android phone and it's running on Android 11 or 12, please enable the Use network information setting. Here's how: open your mobile device's Settings > enable Use network information > Continue.
  5. Restart your mobile phone and test.
  6. Use a different mobile phone. 
  7. Reboot your Chromecast.
  8. Reset your Chromecast.
