Can you use Chromecast in Spain using data from iPhone?

Hi, we're going to Spain and want to be able to use Chromecast with the tv.  We don't have wifi so was wondering if we would be able to use the data from my iPhone contract? Or does it definitely have to be via wifi? Any help gratefully appreciated. Many thanks

You can't directly use your mobile data, you still need to connect Chromecast to a Wi-Fi network. To use your mobile data, you'd need to turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot feature on your phone. Note you will need 2 devices to set this up. 

  1. Turn on the Wifi hotspot feature on a phone or tablet. If you're not sure how to do this, refer to the manufacturer's support website.
  2. Connect a second phone or tablet to that Wifi hotspot.
  3. You can then use that second phone or tablet to setup your Chromecast and connect it to the Wifi hotspot on the first phone or tablet.
