Cannot connect Chromecast

I am in the process of setting up my Chromecast Ultra on my tv. Whenever I try to connect to the wifi so it can be set up, my Google Home app first says 'connected' but then a screen pops up that something went wrong. I have tried resetting the wifi but that does not work

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Are you connecting to a 2.4GHz network or a 5GHz network?
  • How far away is the router from the Chromecast and the phone you're using to set up?
