Casting issue

Hi I recently started using my 2nd gen google chromecast again, I've tried casting foxtel through the cast symbol on my phone it connects the app but dosent play the content, how do I fix this?

Thanks for posting to the Chromecast Community forum! Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: is this only happening when casting video content from Foxtel or across all apps? How far is the Chromecast from the router? Is the internet connection stable?


Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Make sure the Chromecast firmware is updated.
  2. Make sure that the Android, or the iOS device is up-to-date.
  3. Check proximity of TV to casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router. Ideally, they should be less than 15 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) apart from each other, with one or no walls in between.
  4. Reboot the Chromecast, mobile device, and router.
  5. Disconnect and reconnect the mobile device from the Wi-Fi network.
  6. Check if your mobile device has a power saving setting. If it's enabled, disable it.
  7. Perform a factory reset.
