Casting issues from Android Moto G Stylus 5g 2021 to Chromecast

I am having a problem when casting from my mobile phone to a TV.  I launch Google Home and select my Chromecast to cast to.  It launches and does cast.  I am able to open apps from my phone and they display for 10 seconds or less.  When I open a new app or change apps I want to view, the image cast to my TV screen freezes.  I have tried rebooting my phone, my Chromecast, did a factory reset on the Chromecast, and also changed from the TV to a computer monitor.  Nothing seems to be able to keep my screen casting working.

Hi Scott14,

 

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Please try the additional steps listed below:

 

  1. Make sure your phone's OS is running on Android 5.0 or later.
  2. Turn off "Power Saving Mode" on your Android device. Power Saving Mode can limit the processing power of your device which might affect the performance of the Cast Screen feature.
  3. Turn on Microphone permission. This needs to be turned on in the Google Play Services app to successfully use the Cast screen or audio feature with Chromecast. If you don't have this permission turned on, the Cast screen session will immediately disconnect after it attempts to connect.
