Chromecast Cloud error

Bought my first Chromecast and it sets up fine but then I get an error message saying problem connecting to cloud. I’ve tried resetting and looked online for a fix but nothing has worked. 
can anyone help?

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out. 

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED light status in your Chromecast (solid or blinking)? Are you getting that message in the Google Home app or on your TV screen?

 

Try these steps:

 

  1. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  2. If you're using an iOS device, please turn on Bluetooth during setup.
  3. Force close the Google Home app and relaunch after 2 minutes.
  4. Reboot your Chromecast.
  5. Use a different mobile device if one is available.
  6. Reset your Chromecast.
