Chromecast Disconnecting from Wi-Fi

Zfried
Community Member

Hi There,

I moved, connected my Chromecast to a new wifi, and momentarily it works and says it's connected. I can cast YouTube. Then, I go back to Google Home and it says it isn't connected to wifi even though it's showing it is on the TV. No other apps (fubo tv, Netflix, Hulu) are connecting. I've unplugged the cast, I've factory reset it nothing else is working.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Same issue here.   I’ve noticed it keeps turning Wi-Fi off by itself.   Also tried factory reset.  Super annoying

Hey there Zfried,

I apologize about the slow response time, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that disconnecting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When this occurs, what color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
  • How far away is the router from the Chromecast?
  • How far away is the casting device from the Chromecast?
  • Do these same issues occur when casting from another device, such as a computer or tablet?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
