Chromecast Range

Hello...

Looking for help with my (almost out of Return Time) Chromecast.  I am not sure of the Platform or the Issue Category I selected are correct, but the problem is that my Chromecast will not change the volume or turn my Panasonic plasma TV on or off when sitting across the room at approximately 24 feet from the TV.  It appears to be an issue with the IR Range as all other WiFi commands work fine at this distance.  If I move to within about 19 feet of the TV the IR works, but that just puts me in the middle of the room with no place to sit.

No one seems to know the specifications for the Range of the IR (even Google as I have asked them several times with no real answer).  My old TV Remote will work from this distance, but moving forward and back is slow and there is no Voice feature.

So, I'm considering the purchase of the Chromecast Ultra on the hope that it might have a better range.  The question then is...  Does anyone know the range of the standard Chromecast as opposed to the Chromecast Ultra?

Sounds like you've worked out the approximate range through your own testing. Chromecast with Google TV is the only model that supports the voice remote. Purchasing a Chromecast Ultra, or any other previous model in fact, won't help you here.
