Hi
In settings I saw that there was an update available for Remote and opted to update the Remote.
It is not working any more.
I followed the instruction to reset the Remote and Chromecast but it didn't work.
Resetting Chromecast was mistake as now I can't even setup it without pairing the remote.
How can I get replacement remote as it is still under warranty ?

What colour is the light on the remote? I'm assuming you've checked the batteries are OK? What happens if you try these steps?

When I put batteries in white light flashes just once and then nothing. It doesn't matter if I am holding the Home button to reset the remote or not. It just flashes once.
I have tried all of the above.
Now Chromecast is useless because I can't setup it without remote.
Remote update essentially bricked the remote. It should be replaced under warranty.
