Chromecast having to cast twice

Alitak

I had a google cast device, had ZERO issues casting to it with Chrome in windows 10, iOS, or droid.

I upgraded to a Google Chromecast device and it has had ENDLESS problems with having to hit cast two times to make it work.   It is hardwired in with the ethernet adapter plug so it's NOT using any wifi.   I confirmed that, it is actively using the ethernet.    When it's plugged in I can make it work but EVERY SINGLE TIME I have to cast to it, disconnect, cast a second time and then it loads the app I'm casting from.   This is true with Plex and every other app that can cast to the tv, or web pages like youtube.   I've tried power cycling the chromecast, does not fix it.   Upgraded to the latest chrome version, no fix.   Made sure all the windows updates are on the box, no change.   Worth noting, EVERY device in my house has the same issue.  ios, droid, windows, they all have to cast to it two times in order to make this work.    To be clear it does work fine on the second cast, but that first one the pc or phone shows it like it's connected but the cast doesn't do anything.  It hasn't established the link, it only does it that second time.

What is the problem here?   I've seen this issue reported in other cases but you guys are not fixing the issue or offering solutions to make it work for us.   I have a strong technical background, this is not a case of operator error.

Thank you,

Tom

Hi @Alitak,

What kind of router is used within your home network? Maybe some kind of security feature is causing issue.
This may be a strange question, but does this happen if the device is connected to WiFi instead of Ethernet?
