I m 68 and not too good to all of this. Up til this morning my HD TV was working find (image and sound).

Sound stopped suddenly in a middle of a program.

Troubleshooting:

1 ) check the sound bar of tv if it was still plugged in - fine

2 ) I checked the internet, internet sound is up working well

3) l called my supplier with whom l have tv, they cant fix it

They said it is the comcast, and dont service it l have to contact  Google.

How do l fix this problem?

Hi DanPelt,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's check on this further.

A few questions: when did the issue start? Is this only happening when casting from one app or across all apps? Are you casting a video using a mobile phone or a computer through the Chrome browser?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure the Chromecast is connected to the power outlet and the TV is on the right input.
  2. Make sure the device you're using for casting is not muted (mobile phone, laptop/computer).
  3. Make sure that the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver are not muted.
  4. If you're using the Chromecast with a TV and a separate AVR, sound bar, or external speakers, the audio should come out of the TV unless you have an output path from the TV to the AVR, sound bar, or external speakers (Example: a digital optical out cable or HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) enabled). In this scenario, if the audio comes out of the TV but not the AVR, then the issue is with the TV or AVR connection and not with Chromecast.
  5. Connect a different device to the HDMI port. If the issue persists, it's likely not a Chromecast-specific problem.
  6. Try to plug in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV.
  7. Reboot your Chromecast.
  8. Unplug the TV and plug it back in after 2 minutes.
  9. Check if the no audio issue occurs when using a different app and/or websites.
  10. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  11. Factory reset your Chromecast.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
