Chromecast no sound !!

Hi guys need some help, I’ve had my chromecast for around 3 years now and works perfectly fine. I got Disney plus a few weeks ago and had to change the sound settings (stupidly remembering how I did it) and I had just gone to switch back to watch my usual (twitch) and the sound isn’t working, I’ve done everything I’ve reinstalled, I’ve rebooted, I’ve checked the tv settings and nothing is working! Please help

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about that. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: What type of Chromecast device do you have? Does the issue only occur when using the Disney Plus app and Twitch or across all apps? Is the TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Check if the Chromecast is connected to the power outlet and if the TV is on the right input.
  2. Confirm that the device you uses with Chromecast is not muted (Examples: TV, mobile device, etc.)
  3. Confirm that the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver is not muted.
  4. Use a different HDMI device on the same HDMI input and check if audio works.
  5. Use a different HDMI input.
  6. Unplug Chromecast and plug it back in.
  7. Unplug TV and plug it back in.
  8. Check if the no audio issue occurs from all apps or only when casting certain websites.
  9. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  10. Perform factory reset. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Hello Jennifer! I’m afraid i have a super busy schedule and am not always able to reply as fast! But none of these worked, it only changed when I changed the sound settings with Disney plus but I’ve done the settings back and it’s still the same, my tv works as normal with sound but it’s just not seeming to work on anything I’ve tried! Anything else you’d suggest?

Understood and thanks for getting back to us. Is the issue only happening with Disney plus and Twitch or across all apps? If this is isolated with these two apps, please reach out to the app developer for additional help.
