Chromecast not connecting with phone

Going through the entire setup we all get an error that the Chromecast isn’t working with our phone. It’s a new 2.4/5ghz. I have it set up within three feet of the router. All of us try on different iphones with local network enabled and it says it’s set up as if the wireless network work and everything, it just won’t work with the actual phones. It used to work with this internet provider and setup.
