Chromecast not connecting

Tushar_B
Community Member

The android TV displays a message some times

"Can't connect to Wi-Fi"

"Make sure your network name and password are correct"

But the Wi-Fi is working great in mobiles and laptops. However, we complaint with the Wi-Fi provider multiple times (coz they have much simplified complaint managing system unlike your's), they came back after their routine check, stating everything was alright.

We rebooted the Wi-Fi, TV, and the chromecast atleast 30 to 35 times in last few months with no success.

Hey there Tushar_B,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know networking issues can be tricky. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
  • Have you already followed the steps in this article?
  • Are all devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network band?
  • Are you connected to a 2.4GHz band, or a 5GHz band?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
