Chromecast not working

My chromecast with remote was working perfect for 12 months if not more then Al of a sudden stopped working. It hasn't worked for a few months now. I've tried rebooting, plugging into another tv.

The light down the bottom on the remote works and its always on.

What colour is the light on the Chromecast? What do you see on screen? Are you using the original power supply and adapter that it came with?

Nothing comes up on screen it's like nothing is plugged in. And yes using original cords etc.

The light in the remote is white

Sorry if it wasn't clear, I'm referring to the light on the Chromecast device itself behind your TV, not the light on the remote?

What brand and model of TV do you have? Try these steps:

  1. Shut down the TV completely by turning off and disconnecting the power cord from the power source.
  2. Disconnect the Chromecast from the HDMI port. If the Chromecast is plugged into the power source, disconnect it.
  3. Turn on the TV, then reconnect the power source to the Chromecast device. Don't plug the Chromecast into the TV HDMI port yet.
  4. Wait for 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the Chromecast device into an HDMI port on the TV.
  6. Change the TV to the same HDMI input as the Chromecast.
  7. If there are multiple ports available on the TV, try steps 1-6 with a different HDMI port.

Do you happen to have another TV? If so, does it do the same thing with that TV?

I finally got the G to come up on screen tried a different hdmi port in the TV (which I'm sure I've tried before) and a new adapter for power point. Not sure what to do from now. I tried to connect through my home app on my phone but hasn't picked it up.
I have tried it on another TV that my fire stick works on but also didn't work.

In that case, the Chromecast team would like more information to troubleshoot this:
