Hello! I recently upgraded android to version 12, however, there are multiple issues with the new software.
First, my IPTV app no longer works - it crashes right after the launch. Second, I can't watch Netflix normally - it shows this error each time I try to play media - https://help.netflix.com/en/node/59709. After restarting the device it works for a while, however, if I'm about to watch a new episode the next day, this error is shown again, and I have to restart the device again.
There are also some random app crashes and then Chromecast is just stuck in the bootloader. Not sure what to do, is there a way to downgrade back to Android 10?

Hi @martinsu
There are some more reports after the upgrade that it is not stable.
I am not aware of the possibility of downgrading.
Did you already try a factory reset to see if that resolves things?
Quick note... please be sure your remote is working otherwise setting up the device is not possible.

I read that you can't do it with a factory reset because the factory reset only deletes user files and the Android version will remain as is (12 in my case)
10-31-2022 05:00 AM
Hi @martinsu
That is correct. The OS will remain the same (android 12), but it resets all application cache, etc.
So maybe it resolves your issues, that is why I suggested it. 🤗
I got Android 12 running without issue on my Google TV, so the reset may also help you.

Hi @kashyap13
Found this resolution on Reddit: Resolution: I found the fix to be under the Chromecast audio settings. I had mine set to manual but after changing it to be auto and going back to Netflix, shows played immediately.
Maybe worth a shot? 😊

Let me try that and will revert back if it worked.
Thank you

Excellent, this has resolved the Netflix issue! I only have to figure out what to do with the IPTV app, but seems like I’ll have to wait for the updates either from Google or the app.

Hey everyone,
martinsu, thanks for keeping us in the loop and glad to hear that the issue with Netflix has been sorted out. With regards to the IPTV issue, I'd suggest you clear the cache and data of the app then reinstall it. If the issue persists, you may also try reaching out to IPTV support for additional help.
kashyap13, how's it going? Do you still need help?
I appreciate your help here, RXShorty.

Jennifer

Unfortunately, I've tried everything already - clearing data, cache, and reinstalling the app. I contacted app developers and they said that Android 12 is no supported. Wish I known that before I upgraded the firmware:(
11-08-2022 02:25 PM
Hey there martin,
I'm really sorry to hear that! There was an app that I also used on the Chromecast with Google TV before the Android 12 updates that no longer works. You can always ask to see if the developers plan to update the app to work with Android 12, I know I've seen users in the forum say that other apps have planned updates.
Regardless, if you had any other questions or concerns for us, please let us know. We are always happy to help out.
Best regards,
Jeran

seems like it freezes (and having to restart) or restarts frequently since the system update. The Netflix error is fixed however with your solution.

My Google tv deleted some of my apps when I updated to android 12, and now it won't let me reinstall them, it says there was a problem praising the package

Since updating to Android 12 on my Google TV with Chromecast, I no longer have sound in some of my streaming services such as HBO, Apple TV and prime. YouTube TV works normally and I can still cast HBO Apple TV and prime from my phone and get sound. Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

Hey folks,
I'm sorry to hear that you're also having trouble with your Chromecast with Google TV (4K).
JSmith87, please reboot your device and plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV. You may also try to reset it.
tedcousens, if it doesn't work with some of the supported apps, please clear the affected app's cache and data then reinstall it. Rebooting or resetting the device might also help.
martinsu, how's it going? Have you tried the suggested step shared by Jeran? Still need help?
Thanks for lending a hand here, Jeran and Princess.
Regards,
Jennifer

There is a problem
https://www.reddit.com/r/kodi/comments/yfyg3j/choppy_video_on_chromecast_with_google_tv_after/
with Kodi that seems due in all respects to the update to android 12
11-21-2022 12:44 AM
reistall or reset google TV device not works. It seems a bad video streaming optimization.
11-22-2022 03:53 PM
Hi ciqsky,
Could you please try plugging in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV? Also, if one is available, please plug it in on a different TV screen.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Thanks for getting back to us. If this is only happening when using IPTV, please contact the IPTV support for additional help and keep us posted.

the audio issue is resolved, but Chromecast keeps restarting or having to force restart (after freezing) ever since last system update. Anyone else facing this issue?
12-03-2022 07:57 AM
From crash logs I discovered my IPTV app crashes due to the issue described here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/67045607/how-to-resolve-missing-pendingintent-mutability-flag-li...
The app developers have been ignorant and are not addressing this issue, by any chance this can somehow be fixed from the android side?
12-13-2022 03:28 PM
Hi folks,
kashyap13, does it freeze and restart when you're watching a video? Could you try to reboot your Chromecast and Wi-Fi router then check if the same issue will persist?
martinsu, I'd suggest you send feedback about this on the app developers page or site so they can further check this on their end.
Thanks,
Jennifer
