Chromecast working but not available on Android phone

Casting works from other devices. Home app on phone identifies device by name in app, but when I click on icon, home tells me that device unavailable on network. 

Phone on same network. Have unplugge, restarted, rebooted all devices multiple times. What hair left being torn out.

Hey there Geegman,

I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast and Android are not playing nicely! I know how frustrating these connection issues can be, so I'd be happy to help out. First, make sure that you have no VPNs active on your phone. Then, double-check to make sure that your phone and Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi band, either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
