Google assistant voice search not working

I brought the Chromecast with Google TV (2022) yesterday. The google assistant voice search was working fine until today when it doesn’t take in my voice commands. When i hold onto the button, the display comes up and gives me suggested searches. 

Anyone with any help?

Seems like the bug has been fixed. People in the thread are saying the same.

I started having this problem yesterday in both of my Chromecast with Google TV.   

Was planning on posting, after I have time to collect details on the equipment.

Same issue - started yesterday here for me. Happening on multiple chromecast devices. Assistant works fine on phone and on Nest speakers/displays.

Hi, first time posting! Got a Chromecast last week and all has been going great, but the voice control has suddenly stopped working. You press the button on the remote and the voice control box pops up, but when you hold it down and talk, it doesn't register anything. A few minutes later the voice will say "something went wrong, try again in a few minutes". I tried rebooting the remote but now the remote keeps disconnecting every 20/30 minutes or so! Any ideas how to fix??

I have bought the Chromecast 4K TV

Fantastic experience, everything works except when today the assistant doesn't accept voice commands.

Either I push the assistant icon from Chromecast remote or using my phone as a remote, it opens the dialog, it shows the green mic icon on the right, but doesn't receive my voice commands.

Thanks for posting here. It is indeed a bug that affects Google Assistant functions on Chromecast with Google TV 4K and/or HD. The patch fix has been sent, but since the ticket is still open, it means it hasn’t reached its completion yet. So you’ll notice that some of the posts here claim that they got theirs fixed, while others, like you, are still experiencing it. Kindly stay tuned, as we will update here once this has been completed.

I have the same issue starting yesterday on both the Chromecast and Google Assistant on a Sony TV. Definitely something global/server-side.

I just bought mine and it worked about twice, but then factory reset both remote and chromecast, unpair, pair again.. did every troubleshooting I found. Nothing, assistant  comes up, suggested searches, but it won´t take a voice command. Then after a while it sais "something went wrong, try again in a few seconds" or it says "there was a glitch"
It came with remote firmware 26.0 and updated to 26.6. None of them worked

The search screen, when scrolling right to the lens (search) , says "Loading error".

Having the same issue on my Google TV. Tried to use the assistant button on my remote and it will come up with the mic icon and then assistant just shuts right back off. Tried through the virtual remote in the app still no luck. Affecting both my bedroom and living room tv. Surprisingly not affecting my kids TVs.

I started having this issue today. I tried changing the remote batteries, forgetting the remote and then pairing again, rebooting the Chromecast, unplugging the Chromecast, and using the remote in Google Home. Surprisingly, the Voice command in the Google Home device remote feature does the same thing as far as showing the Assistant button is active on the Chromecast, but nothing is heard.

Exact same for me (i'm in the UK). 

I even went as far as ordering a replacement remote...before realising none of my 3 remotes were working! All very strange...and seemingly no comment from Google yet?

FYI I decided to clear the cash for the Android Bluetooth and remote apps in the system setting and it seems to have fixed the issue for me. need to go to  Settings- apps- see all apps- show system apps -  there I cleared the cache on everything related to the remote that I could so I'm not sure which one actually did it.  I did the "Android TV infrared Service"  and  "Android TV Remote Service"

I cleared data on:
"Remote Control Update Service"
"Android TV Remote Service"
Plus, allowed permission to access FILES AND MEDIA to  "Android TV Remote Service"

and.... IT WORKS!!

Restarted again, works once or twice, and then back to nothing.

I'm having the same issue as everyone else. Google Assistant suddenly no longer works on my Chromecast voice remote. It's happened on two different Chromecasts (and with 2 different voice remotes) as well as using the remote through the Google TV app on my Pixel 6 Pro.

They were already posting in this thread that the Chromecast team and assistant team are working with each other to resolve it. Some people said clearing cache and date on the remote system apps may fix it for some. 

To send bug report go to settings menu on TV, help and send feedback. Include system logs and bug reports.

So whenever I press the voice button on my Chromecast remote, Google voice assistant acts like it is listening but doesn't hear anything. This started a day or two ago. It affects all my tvs, all my parents tvs and all of one of my friends tvs except one that uses Chromecast. That tells me the issue isn't on our end?

We have all restarted Chromecast and it hasn't done anything either. Anyone else having issues?

This issue appears to affect chromecasts w/ google TV 4k devices.   I opened a ticket yesterday w/ support describing the issue.  Even if you pair your phone and use it as a remote, the assistant button doesn't register your voice.  There are other threads also talking about the same issue.  I had my brother test his HD device and it's working normally.

I just tried and voice is workng again on my CC with Google TV.  

Google Assistant also started responding again on my phone yesterday.
