Guest mode won't pop up

First off, I honestly don't know if my Chromecast is a gen2 or gen3; anyways, my area had a WiFi outage, so I tried to figure out how to Chromecast without WiFi. I understand you have to use guest mode, but my settings aren't popping up. The "recognition and sharing"  option isn't in my settings. How do I cast without WiFi?????

Hello Nova123,

Thanks for reaching out. Please be advised that your Chromecast must still be connected to a Wi-Fi network in order for it to work. The Guest mode feature will let you cast your favorite media to your Chromecast from a mobile device without connecting it to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast and you will only need a Guest mode PIN from Chromecast.
