Netflix is not working on my brand new chromecast. It is giving the error "Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service. Please check Network Settings to connect to an available network and use Netflix (-100).
YouTube TV is also not working. It gives the error "Playback error this video format is not supported."
I have tried restarting and also uninstalling both apps. Any ideas for a fix?

I'm having the same issues. When I try playing anything on YTTV I get a playback error saying"the video format is not supported". I've reset my TV, cleared the YTTV app cache, rebooted the Chromecast, etc. Nothing will work.

I did the NF uninstall, and reinstall, I signed it in to my gHome account, I turned off and pulled the USB plug. No joy. I can't even cast to the TV using Netflix from my phone. Completely blocked
How do we get someone from Google to solve this? I may have to return it and get the simpler model which allows casting to the TV without the remote they provide with the model I bought

This is all so annoying! I am still having the same error messages. I am also considering making a return unless someone from Google can solve this ASAP.

I returned mine and bought the cheaper model without GTV. I also found I could not skip ahead of ads on YTTV on the remote provided. All around not a good product. And I'm all google, Pixel phone, YTTV, gHome...

After speaking to a Google support person, she said my case would be elevated and I'd hear from someone within 24 hours. Nope. So I returned the bad dongle and ordered a new one, hopefully it works well. Our other TV dongle works great! I really like the Google TV layout so hopefully it was just a lemon.

I bailed on it and bought the simpler one without the remote. Works perfectly

I ended up returning the Dongle and getting anew one. Everything works now.
