Hi everybody, I am having issues casting Youtube on my TV from the phone as well as from the computer. The cast only returns the video but no audio. This is only happening for the YouTube app.
The problem is exactly the same as posted here before: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/No-audio-from-Youtube-videos-when-casting-Netfliz-...
Please let me know how I can resolve this issue.
Thanks very much.
Jeeshan.

Hey there jeeshquiche,
I am sorry about the slow response time, thank you for your patience! Were you still having audio issues with YouTube? If so, I'd be happy to help out! I know YouTube videos aren't very useful without sound, so let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

I'm also having the exact same problem with my YouTube app. Hulu and other streamers work just fine playing both video and the audio thru my television with Chromecast enabled. But YouTube will only play audio on official YouTube movies...no other videos (music videos, news, etc.) have audio coming out of my television. This is super frustrating as it doesn't seem to be affecting many people.

I can imagine that it's pretty frustrating! Let me see if I can find out what's happening, let me just ask you a few questions:
I look forward to your response on this!

I'm having the same problem. It started after a Chrome update in September 2021. Can't believe Google can't fix this. A workaround is Casting DESKTOP and not TAB. Then audio plays fine. This is annoying while I am teaching but it works. I was on the phone with Google and they couldn't figure it out. My IT guy looked into it also to no avail.

Hey there lgrady,
Thank you for letting me know that you found a workaround! If you have the time, would you be able to re-create that sound issue, then submit feedback via the Google Home app with logs enabled? That way, the engineering team can look into this issue a bit deeper.
I appreciate your help on this.
Best regards,
Jeran
