When I cast from chrome browser to TV and I go fullscreen, there is always a pop-up asking if I want to optimize. I always click "optimize" and it works great. Last time, I clicked "Optimize" and checked the "don't ask again" box. Now it's not asking again, but it's also not optimizing when I go to fullscreen. I have right-clicked on the chromecast icon on the upper right side of the search bar and enabled "optimize on fullscreen," but that has not fixed the issue. Any way I can get my chrome browser to ask me to optimize again, like the good old days?

I have exactly the same problem - last night full screen optimisation worked flawlessly after being prompted via the pop up when streaming from my Macbook but now, although the optimise full screen videos option is selected after right clicking the Chromecast icon, it doesn't want to cooperate and am experiencing very slight jittering when streaming to my TV.
My connection speed is 50mbps, I have tried a combination of toggling the optimise option on and off, re-opening Chrome, restarting the laptop along with the Chromecast itself and rebooting the router. The Chromecast also has full WiFi connection quality according to the Nighthawk app.
Is this just a case of Google and Apple not playing nicely?

Heya CKR,
It may have something to do with the content you are trying to cast. If it's local content, then it might explain the jittering that you are experiencing. Basically, the content that has an option to "Optimize full-screen casting" are the apps that are specifically cast-enabled. So it's really dependent on the content or app that you're casting, and it shouldn't be the case that Apple and Google aren't playing nice.
Best regards,
Jeran

As usual you give a vague response based on hypothetical scenarios which I did not mention when describing the issues I was facing so yeah whatever thanks for your 'help'.

Heya, CKR
In your last post, you asked if it's a case of Google and Apple not playing nicely, and I stated that the jittering may have something to do with the content you are casting, and that Google and Apple not playing nicely shouldn't be the case. I'd love to help get the root of the issue, let me ask you more specific questions:
I look forward to your response, and if you had any other questions or concern, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
