I can cast to my Chromecast and it will wake the TV. However, when casting to the speaker group it will not wake the TV. The speaker group contains the Chromecast.
The chromecast ultra is likely not sending the correct HDMI-CEC signals (how an HDMI device like the chromecast can control a TV).

Hey there jajaja,
I'm sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! That is an interesting observation, you may be on to something there. If you have the time, would be willing to submit feedback via Google Home to let the engineering team know about this interaction? That would be tremendously helpful!
Thank you for letting us know about this, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Kind of sucks the 'resolution' was to give feedback somewhere else. Disappointed

Hey there jajaja,
I did a little digging, and it does seem that the speaker group not turning on the TV is a feature that the Chromecast does not have. So, submitting feedback really is the best course of action, to let Google know that CEC functionality with speaker groups would be something you're interested in.
I'm real sorry I didn't explain that in the previous post, but if you had any other questions or concerns, I'd be happy to address them.
Best regards,
Jeran

Have a good one!
