VLC media players keeps freezing

Hi,

I just got a Chromecast and installed VLC. We have a server with our media on it, when I try to watch something it plays for a bit and then freezes. I don't have this problem when I use VLC on my tablet or phone.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Are you experiencing this on popular (well-maintained) apps like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, etc.? If not, and this is isolated only to the VLC app, then there are two possibilities: the network or the app itself. Try to troubleshoot the app by clearing the cache and data. You can also reinstall the app. If it persists, try to disconnect your Chromecast device from your home Wi-Fi and connect it to your smartphone’s mobile hotspot using the remote. If it still fails, you may need to contact VLC support for a possible coding or file format conversion.
