chromecast not connecting to wifi.

I received a Google Smart TV Kit as a gift.  I was able to set up the Home Mini with no issues.  I can't get the Chromecast to set up.  I keep getting connection problem during set up on my android phone and my TV is stuck at connecting to (insert the name of my wifi).  It never connects.  I've followed all the tutorial instructions.  I've tried connecting using the Chromecast SSID and it says there is no internet connection.  I rebooted my IP service,  rebooted the router,  rebooted my phone, force stopped the Home app, uninstalled and reinstalled the Home app, rebooted the chromecast, set up a new wifi option... Nothing is working.  How does this get fixed?  

 

It shouldn't be this difficult or take several hours to get this working.

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Let's check this further.

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? How far is your Chromecast from the Wi-Fi router?

 

Try these steps:

 

  1. Toggle Wi-Fi off and on from the setup device.
  2. Use a different mobile device.
  3. Try to connect to a mobile hotspot to isolate the issue.
  4. Factory reset your Chromecast.
