Hi Dean2,

 

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late response. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions — what type of Chromecast device do you have? Is the Chromecast near your mobile phone? Is the Google Home app updated?

 

Give these steps a try:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth and location services on your mobile phone.
  2. Turn on Local Network Access for the Google Home app on your mobile phone (For iOS devices).
  3. Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234 or Living room TV, Bedroom TV, etc) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  5. Try a different mobile phone.
  6. Reset your Chromecast.
