Devices Appearing in Wrong Home

Today I've set up a Google Home for a second property (B) and added 2 devices (a motion detector and hub). Property A has many devices (screens, chromecasts, speakers etc). I am a member (admin) of both property A and B.

When I look at propery A devices everything looks correct. When I look at property B I see the right devices, plus I see some devices from property A (speakers, one chromecast, the screens etc). They are listed as local devices (not in a room).

When I check the settings the devices are in the correct home/room. If I delete the devices from either property, they disappear from property A, but stay listed in property B. From property B I can simply add it back just by assigning it to property A and adding the room.

I've deleted the cache and reinstalled the app and it's the same however my phone is showing exactly the same as my tablet so I doubt it's a device issue.

I invited a person to join property B household, and when they accepted, they joined household A.

How to I keep only the right devices in the right home, and keep the household members separate?

Just adding to this...

In property B the devices from property A only appear when they are on.

For example if a chromecast is on in property A, it shows up in property B as a device. When the chromecast is off it disappears as a device in property B. It's always shown in property A, but shows  off line when off.

I want the devices to only be seen in the correct property. There is no link between the two.

Another update. I went to property B, and deleted the home as the admin. I then recreated it adding only the devices in that home. The admin then invited me to become part of that household, which I accepted.

Initially it looked fine and I could only see two devices in that home. By the time I got back to my home (property A) I was again seeing devices for property A in property B.

How do you stop devices appearing in the wrong home?

Hi @Paul1966!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your devices are appearing in the wrong home structure. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

Local devices in Google Home are smart devices that are connected to your home's local area network and can be controlled through the Google Home app. This occurs because the devices are linked to the same Wi-Fi network. When this happens, the Google Home app recognizes them even though they are in different homes as though they are in the same place.
