Google home app insist I have a nest hub which I do not

I have eufy cameras and have linked the service to my Google Home. It finds all of my cameras automatically so I know the linkage works however when I try to access a camera it then wants me to set up a Google nest. It seems to think that I have one, I do not. When I tell it I do not have one it goes back to the previous screen and lists all of the nest devices and ask me if I have one. When I answer no it insists on me setting up a Google Nest which clearly I don't need to do because I don't have one. I don't know why it thinks I do.

@updatedmike This is most likely because your neighbour has one and has either not set it up or it is disconnected from their Wi-Fi. Essentially, there is a display in the vicinity of your phone that is not setup properly so the app offers to set it up, which is working as intended. If you're friendly with your neighbours, perhaps mention this to them?

I appreciate the responses but this is really bad programming. I'm not going to go door to door and talk to my neighbors. I ended up just not using the Google Home app.  It's not worth my headache.  This all started when I wanted to see my Eufy cameras in the app   I just bought another Alexa device instead.   Bleh.

Thanks for the response.

Well I appreciate the information but am I supposed to go like knocking on every door, across the street two doors down five doors down? What is the proximity. This seems kind of crazy but I appreciate your response

And, working as intended? What if I can't find the neighbor that has a Google Nest, I won't ever be able to access my Eufy cameras? What if I buy a Google Nest, is it not going to find mine? This doesn't seem like a good plan to be working as intended LOL.

For what it's worth, I've also experienced this issue and you should always be able to get to the home screen by tapping 'Not now' or dismissing the popup. It's within Bluetooth range and Bluetooth 5 offers a theoretical maximum range of 800 feet (240 meters) in absolute ideal conditions, however, actual range is considerably less due to factors like physical obstacles (walls, furniture), interference from other devices, etc.
