Lights offline but responsive

UncleBens

I have a few routines in my automation in the Google Home app. Whenever I ask my nest to run one of the routines everything works, but he goes "Light 1 offline, light 2 offline, ...". Even though the app doesn't give any sign of offline devices.

How do I fix this?

I use Philips Hue and one Ikea light bulb.

Hi, @UncleBens,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I apologize that your smart lights are offline. Let's work together to find a solution!

To troubleshoot effectively, please provide the following information:

  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  • When you request an action using the Google Assistant, is the action executed?
  • What routines put the smart lights offline?
  • Do you hear the same message for all routines?
  • Are the lights showing as online in the Philips and TRADFRI apps?

In the meantime, try unlinking and relinking the smart lights in the Google Home app. You can find instructions in this article: Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

I have the exact same issue!  I have Philips Hue bulbs as well.  The routine runs fine but then I get the response that xxx is offline, xxx is offline, xxxx is offline.  Nothing has changed in my routines and only started happening in the last month or so.  Did you get any response yet for a fix?  I've tried everything I can think of to resolve.  Thanks!

Hi, @Birmboy24!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm truly sorry your Philips Hue bulbs are offline; I appreciate the effort you have put into resolving this inconvenience. I'm happy to assist you!

To better assist you, please share the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. Additionally, please answer the following questions:

  • Can you control your Philips Hue lights using the Philips Hue mobile app?
  • What specific action are you trying to perform with your Philips Hue lights (e.g., turn on/off, adjust brightness)?

Before proceeding with troubleshooting, please verify the following:

  • Your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speakers and displays.
  • Your Google Home and Philips Hue bridge are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • You are using a mobile device with the same Google account linked to your Google Home.
  • You are using the same Google account as your primary account within the Google Home app.

In the meantime, you may try unlinking and relinking your Philips Hue lights in the Google Home app. You can find instructions in this article: Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app. Additionally, delete your current routine and create a new one with a different name. Refer to this article for instructions: Manage Routines

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Same issue here. The routines cannot control my connected lights (mi home and cozy home) saying they’re offline, but they show and work completely fine in the rest of the google home app. Please fix it!!!
