So I recently moved into a university building that uses Eduroam WiFi, but this WiFi is only available for phones, tablets and laptops. The network used for devices like TVs, games consoles and smart speakers is called MyDevices and the devices must be registered using their MAC address in order to use the WiFi. My problem with this is that my Google nest hub max requires my phone to be connected to this same WiFi in order to set it up, and my phone can't connected to this MyDevices WiFi as it's not a supported device. The Google home app can only be downloaded on phones, laptops and tablets (devices which aren't supported for the WiFi needed) so I'm stumped. Is there any way around this?

To workaround this, you can temporarily setup your Nest Hub Max using your phone's Wifi hotspot which will enable you to get its MAC address. Note you will need 2 devices to set this up.
Once setup, you'll find the MAC address under the device information in the Home app. Once you have it whitelisted, reset the device and during setup, you'll be able to connect it to the MyDevices Wifi network.
