Nest learning Thermostat E -

The nest learning thermostat E works, but I do not want it to change settings on me automatically.  If I want to change a setting, I'll change it.  However, it has other ideas and keeps messing with my settings.

I set "Auto-Schedule" to off.  It sure sounds like that's what controls this issue, but it hasn't helped.  A couple of times a day I have to reset the thermostat to the temp I want, not the temp it's set by itself.  Am I missing some setting, or is it just going to do this regardless of what I want? What the heck is going on? I set the thermostat to 67F and an hour later the thermostat adjusted the temperature on its own to 58F. How can I stop the Nest thermostat to adjusting the temperature setting on its own?

Hello mjmccormick33,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

I understand your frustration with the Nest Thermostat E and its automatic adjustments. It can be inconvenient when a device doesn't behave as expected. To address this issue, you may want to check a few settings and make sure everything is configured to your preferences. Besides turning off "Auto-Schedule," you may also want to disable the "Early-On" feature. This function allows the thermostat to start heating or cooling your home in advance of the scheduled time to reach the desired temperature. Disabling this might prevent unexpected temperature changes.

Additionally, ensure that the "Eco Temperatures" are set to your liking. Sometimes, the Nest Thermostat adjusts temperatures to save energy by default. Adjusting these settings should give you more control over when and how the thermostat operates.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you regain control over your thermostat and prevent it from changing settings on its own. If all else fails, let me know.

Best regards,
Mark

I’m having the same issue. Early on and auto schedule are both OFF. This just started happening randomly a few weeks ago. Help.
