Hi

I've added controller to my main gate in order to manage it remotely. I did that via Tuya Smart app and all ok. I've then linked this with Google Home, so I can use Google Assistant. But when trying to open the gate by the Google Home app button or Assistant they ask me for PIN. I've never set up any pin for Google Home or particular device. I can't find anything in settings to change/remove PIN. Can someone help me on this, please?

Hi Juni,

Actually I have sorted this out, reviewed other forums and the issue was similar for other people. It wasn't google PIN really. What happend was I have configured my gate in Tuya app directly. Google one was no a 'direct' configuration but the link to the Tuya app. And it was Tuya app where the PIN was set up, but: PIN option was 'hidden' in not obvious place (not standard settings' button'). It was called 'password', so I've just ignored it before. And also I didn't set up this password/PIN in the first place, so did not expect it to pop up. It was a bit confusing/misleading, but finally I managed it 👍

thanks,

trocadero

Hi, You can create Tuya smart Scene  from Tuya app, then trigger Scenen from google home, it will work and wont ask any pin, enjoy.

You can add this via Google home automation on any trigger action or on voice command as you like.

Go to Scene -> Tap to Run -> Add new Action ->open/close.

Hi trocadero,

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what is the make of the controller for your main gate? Did it work before, or is this the first time that you linked it to your Google Home app? Have you contacted the manufacturer of the device to get assistance on how to properly connect and manage their device via the Google Home app? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni

Hi @trocadero

Have you managed to find a way to workaround giving the PIN as a voice command when Google Home asks? Leaving aside the fact that you may be heard by someone you don't want (i.e. in car with a stranger and you want to open your gate), I would really like to open my gate with a single voice command 😁

Hi C-M,

unfortunately not. I just use the PIN. Not great, but didn't find any workaround.

I have a garage door that ask for a pin to open which is good but i want my car to be able to open it without asking for a pin. Is there some way to specify the pin for a specific device so it does not ask?
